Goo News & Reviews
For Christmas Santa got me the Powerlite projector. Sweet little unit and does one heck of a job from what I can see. Much better I think than paying for those high cost plasma TVs.
Anyhow, I’ve got it all up and running in my newly renovated basement theater room.
For a screen frame on the wall I used standard door frame from Home Depot and painted it black. Dieing to try out my new 90″ home made TV screen, I quickly threw in some standard flat primer down the middle. Picture looked ok but i could tell there was performance lacking... still needed a touch more enhancement...but what to do? Can’t really afford a pull down screen to match the size that met my needs. So I decided to do some research for the recent new product I’ve heard so much about which is a paint-on screen from “Goo Systems”. I’m not really the type to order stuff on-line so I decided to track down this product in my area...sure enough I found the kit I was looking for at “2001 Audio Video”
When I got home I began to quickly prep the area to paint my own projection screen...it was very easy to do...2 coats of base and 2 of the top coat enhancer....Results?... I’m quite impressed. What a difference! I really didn’t think this stuff would work but it really does enhance and brings out the best in all pictures. You could sit 3 feet away from this 90″ monster of a big screen or you can sit 200 feet away and it’s clear as heck.
Goo Systems does say it takes about 4 to 6 weeks for the ingredients in the base coat and the top coat to cure fully. I believe it actually does capture excessive light.....try it for yourself and see, you won’t believe your eyes!!!!!!!!!!!
My Goo Systems product rating:
they say the product is easy to apply - 10!!!
dries quickly - 10!!!
instant results in picture quality - 10!!!
captures excessive light just like a regular screen - 10!!!
Nice work Goo Systems!!!
